Step by Step Admission Procedure for Sainik Schools
1. Check Eligibility
✔ Age Criteria: Typically 10–12 years for Class 6, and 13–15 years for Class 9 (verify current year limits).
✔ Nationality: Only Indian citizens are eligible.
✔ Educational Qualification: Must be studying or completed in the class immediately preceding the class for which admission is sought. In the case of the student currently studying in the class for which the admission is sought, they are eligible as long as they meet the Age Criteria. Remember when they clear the AISSEE and get admitted they will be studying again in the same class. ( It means a student studying currently in 6th std can apply for the exam and upon clearing the exam and all other procedures, he will again be studying the 6th standard as the Sainik schools admit students only in Class 6. The same applies to the 9th standard student also. )
✔ State Quota: Usually, 67% of seats are reserved for candidates from the same state where the Sainik School is located. The balance 33% seats are reserved for the other state candidates.
2. Registration
✔ Visit the official AISSEE portal: https://aissee.ntaonline.in
✔ Create an account using a valid email ID and mobile number.
While creating the Account, remember to give an Email ID that you have been using regularely. All exam related communication is done through this email ID. Its adviced to use the EmailID of the father or mother and do not create a new email id for the student. We may miss out important communication when we fail to check the new emailid or when we forget the password for the new email id created.
✔ Keep your personal details and previous school information handy.
Personal details plays a very important role in the submittion of application form, carefully type your personal details as type errors will cost you more time and money on producing related documents of proof.
Spell the students name as given in the AADHAAR. Check the name to be in line with the AADHAAR, School Certificates, Date of Birth Certificate, Community certificate, Domicile Certificate and all related certificates. If the name has to be changed, please do it as early as possible with the concernt department and make the student name to be reflected the same in all documents. This will reduce alot of stress, time and money in the later stages of admission.
Regarding previous school information, you may need to get the ECSI number which will be available at the school and which will be mentioned int he Transfer certificate that you are going to get.
3. Fill Application Form
✔ Complete the online form carefully with:
Dedicate a seperate time before filling the online application form.
Pen down all the details in a seperate paper and refer them while filling the form.
Write down your login ID and the password that you have created.
✔ Candidate's personal details
Check on the students name, Date of Birth, Gender and Category. These are the four key details that are used for selection process. When we make a mistake in these four details, the entire process can go wrong and chances of getting a seat might void. ( Say for example, if you have mentioned your category as General insted of OBC, then your merit list will be with the General Category insted of OBC category, you might miss the allotment of seat if the cut off for general category is more than the OBC )
On the other hand AISSEE might give options to correct and update these four particulars while submitting the application and before commencement of the counseling through correction windows.
✔ Parent/guardian details
While filling the parent details, choose the key parent and submit related details along side of the key parent. The reason behind this is that, upon successfull admission to the school, the school will be asking for supporting documents of the parent and the parrents need to submit aggrements to abide by the rules and regulations of the selected school. So at this point the agrement can be processed under the key parent name and the related documents can also be submitted in the name of the key person name. In the case of the documents beeing mixedup with both the parrent, do not get worried on it as the selected school will advice you on the specific situation.

Both have the their own pros and cons depending on the state. The Home state choice will give you more Seat to partificate as the Home state seat alocation percentage id 67%. But though the other state percentage is low about 33%, the number of schools to choose is almost about 32 schools. Remember that when choosing the Home state you comete with only your state people, when you choose the Other state category you have to compete with the Nation except your state.

Put all the scanned documents in a seperate folder and name them in their respective name. This will avoid loading wrong documents. Include the thumb impression of the student and the signature of the student in the scanned documents as we need to upload these two also together with the other documents.
